HISTORY

1974

The Origins of
the Domain

In 1974, Alain Burguet laid the first stones of the Domaine by helping older vineyard owners maintain their vines.

Over the years, he acquired small plots in

Gevrey-Chambertin, thus forming the foundation of the domaine.

In 1991, Yvon, his father, passed away, and Alain inherited 1.5 hectares.

Thanks to the kindness and strong bonds with the village residents, the estate has developed by emphasizing responsible viticulture

Pioneer of Sustainable Viticulture

Alain Burguet was one of the first winemakers in the village to resume plowing his vineyards and allow grass to cover them as early as the 1970s.

Since the 1980s, the estate has practiced integrated agriculture that implements biodynamic, organic, and synthetic methods (in case of force majeure).

The Family Succession

In 1999, Alain's sons, Jean-Luc and Eric, join the family adventure. In 2011, Alain retired, and the siblings then took the reins of the Domaine, continuing the tradition with an approach focused on sustainable viticulture. They are committed to producing unfiltered and unfined wines, minimizing interventions.

Today, Jean-Luc Burguet continues his father's legacy. In 2023, he took over the management of the Domaine , which spans 9.85 hectares, including vines acquired over the years through small purchases, inheritances, as well as cuvées made from purchased grapes, thus enriching the diversity of the terroirs. The estate continues to produce exceptional wines while respecting the deeply rooted values of our DNA : respect for natural cycles and sustainable viticulture.

The history of the Jean-Luc Burguet Domaine is an example of the transmission of winemaking within the family. Each vintage tells a profound story of love for the land and wine.
